Today, 28 November 2014, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., you are invited to watch the Sound of Science show on Gold FM (96.9 FM) involving Dr. Octavian Micu, researcher of the Institute of Space Science (ISS) in the Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics Laboratory. He will talk about micro-black holes, whose existence is still hypothetical.
The ISS researcher together with his colleagues proposes, however, a unique fingerprint to identify the decay of microscopic black holes. The identification of their signature by observations would confirm the string theory and would change physics as we know it today.
Astăzi, 28 noiembrie 2014, între orele 12:00 – 13:00, vă invităm să urmăriți emisiunea Sound of Science pe Gold FM (96.9 FM) la care participă Dr. Octavian Micu, cercetător al Institutului de Ştiinţe Spaţiale (ISS) în Laboratorul de Cosmologie și Fizica Astroparticulelor. Acesta va vorbi despre micro-gaurile negre, a căror existenţă este încă ipotetică.
Cercetătorul ISS alături de colegii săi de echipă propune, însă, o amprentă unică pentru identificarea dezintegrării găurilor negre microscopice. Identificarea semnăturii propuse de ei prin observații ar confirma teoria corzilor (string theory) și ar schimba fizica așa cum o știm astăzi.
Today, 19 November 2014, the Institute of Space Science participated at the ASTRONET workshop, during which representatives of the major actors in astronomy in Romania met with the Working Group 3 ASTRONET.
The purpose of this ASTRONET visit was to analyse the situation of astronomy research and professionals astronomers in Romania and to discuss how Romania could integrate into the European astronomy better, but also join organisations such as ESO or similar.
Astăzi, 19 noiembrie 2014, Institutul de Ştiinţe Spaţiale a paticipat la workshopul ASTRONET în cadrul căruia reprezentanţii principalilor actori din domeniul astronomic din România s-au întâlnit cu Grupul 3 de Lucru ASTRONET.
Scopul acest vizite ASTRONET a fost de a fi analizată situaţia cercetării în astronomie şi a astronomilor profesionişti din România şi de a discuta cum ar putea România să se integreze mai bine în astronomia europeană, dar şi în organizaţii precum ESO sau altele similare.
Catalin Negrea, researcher of the Institute of Space Science (ISS) within the Laboratory of Space Plasma and Magnetometry won the award for the best poster presented by a student (Outstanding Student Poster – OSP) following the annual conference of the European Geosciences Union – EGU held in Vienna from 27 April to 2 May 2014.
Cătălin Negrea, cercetător al Institutului de Ştiinţe Spaţiale (ISS) în cadrul Laboratorului de Plasmă Spaţială şi Magnetometrie a câştigat premiul pentru cel mai bun poster prezentat de un student (Outstanding Student Poster — OSP), în urma conferinței anuale a Uniunii Europene pentru Geoştiinţe (European Geosciences Union — EGU) care a avut loc la Viena în perioada 27 aprilie – 2 mai 2014.

Cercetătorii de la Institutul de Ştiinţe Spaţiale (ISS) sunt invitați să susțină prezentări în cadrul conferinței „Spațiul: Ultima Frontieră”, organizată de Asociația ASUR astăzi, 25 septembrie, ora 17:00 în sala Aula Magna a Universităţii din Bucureşti, Facultatea de Drept (Bd. Mihail Kogălniceanu nr. 36-46).
În cadrul conferinţei se vor aborda trei mari zone de interes:
