The Institute of Space Science (ISS) represented by the Competence Centre in Space Technologies for Human Spaceflight Support (STARWALKER), is partner in organising the Alantykron Academy Summer Camp, which will run from 31 July to 9 August 2015 at 20 km from Cernavoda, in Constanta county. Children, parents, youth, teachers, artists, scientists from around the world will meet for 10 days to discuss and learn together about the world of science, together with researchers and other renowned professionals, during a truly unique lifetime and educational experience.
The Academy targets young people between 15 and 29 years old. People younger than 15 years must be accompanied by at least one adult, and those older than 29 years must seek special permission, unless they have already received approval or are invited by a general program coordinator.
Participants will take part in various courses and activities on the following topics:
Science
- First aid course – during which participants will discover and experience basic first aid techniques that can save lives and can be useful in extreme situations;
- The “Measure your muscles” workshop. During this workshop participants will be presented a muscular investigation technique used in performance sports – the Tensiomyography (TMG) – a method that enables the measurement of contractile properties of surface muscle groups;
- Introspection workshop – Powered by Cristina Botezatu and Cristina Ciurea (INCS);
- Personal self-development elements and mental self – psychosomatic remodeling and regeneration using oriental techniques;
- Workshop on robotics and artificial intelligence;
- Astronomy workshop;
- Seti & Complexity workshop – A new approach to SETI program, in terms of Complexity science (about time, space, life, consciousness, conscience).
Culture
- Science Fiction Prose Contest – „Valentin Nicolau “;
- Science Fiction Prose Contest “When ideas become reality.” During three days the coordinators of this course aims to present and discuss the scientific interaction between fantasy and reality during the time.
- Course on interculturalism.
Art
- “Photography from A to Z, art concepts” – This is the photo course of the 2015 Atlantykron Summer Academy and it addresses to beginner photographers, to those familiar with the basic techniques or to advanced photographers.
Sports
- Sports competitions and fun activities;
- Mind games workshop.
Instructors renowned in their fields from Europe and the world who will attend the 2015 edition of the Atlantykron camp are presented here. They will provide an outstanding educational and life experience to the young people who will participate.
